StarCraft: Tabletop Miniatures Game rules, searchable
Mineral Line puts the Core Rules of StarCraft: Tabletop Miniatures Game on your phone and tablet. The app follows Core Rules v48. It’s free and the rules work offline.
How a game plays
A game lasts up to 5 Rounds, and the mission sets how many. Each Round has four phases, played in order (Core Rules 8.1):
- Movement: Deploy, Move, Disengage or Hold.
- Assault: Ranged Attack, Charge, Run or Hold.
- Combat: Close Ranks and Close Combat Attacks.
- Scoring & Cleanup: control Mission Markers, score Victory Points, clean up.
In the first three phases, players take turns activating one unit at a time (8.2). No units start on the battlefield. Every unit begins in Reserves and comes on during the Movement Phase as Supply allows. The Supply Pool grows each Round, and in the last Round there’s no limit (8.3.1).
Building an army
Players agree on a game size, then spend Minerals on units and upgrades and Vespene Gas on Tactical Cards (9.1.1). Gas is always 10% of the Minerals.
| Engagement Scale | Minerals | Battlefield |
|---|---|---|
| Skirmish | Up to 1,000 | 36″ × 36″ |
| Standard | Up to 2,000 | 36″ × 54″ |
| Grand Offensive | 2,001 or more | 36″ × 72″ |
Your Faction Card sets the starting Army Slots: Core, Elite, Support, Air and Hero. Tactical Cards bought with Gas add more. A unit takes as many slots of its type as its starting Supply. Every Faction Tag on a unit must also be on your Faction Card (9.1.2). The army builder checks all of this for you.
